Link tracking is a powerful tool that tracks when a contact clicks on a hyperlink in your campaign or automation email. This feature provides valuable insights into your contacts' activities, helping you measure the effectiveness of your emails and engagement levels of your subscribers. Analyzing this data will be handy when you're segmenting contacts for more targeted campaigns.

Activating link tracking
Good news! Link tracking is automatically enabled for all campaigns and automation emails that include hyperlinks. You can disable link tracking in the email summary by toggling the switch to 'OFF', or, if it’s not enabled, simply turn it ON in the same email summary section.
Important note: Link tracking only works for hyperlinks that begin with http:// or https://. Unfortunately, clicks on email addresses or personalized tags (like %FIRSTNAME%) cannot be tracked.
Using link tracking
The data collected through tracking is valuable for optimizing your targeting, enhancing content performance, and improving contact segmentation. Here’s how you can put this data to use:
If/Else step:
Use an 'If/Else' step in automation to create a split based on specific conditions. For instance, you can track whether a contact has clicked a link and use that action to guide your follow-up.Goal steps:
Define a clear objective for your automation to guide contacts through the workflow. For example, you can set conditions like "Clicked the link" to determine when they should move forward in the automation.
Advanced search:
Use precise filtering to identify contacts that meet specific conditions. For instance, applying the "Clicked on the link" filter allows you to pinpoint engaged users who took that action.
Conditional content:
Customize content display based on user behavior. If a contact meets specific criteria, they will see relevant content blocks in campaigns or automations, increasing engagement and personalization.
Deal and lead scores:
Track engagement levels by assigning deal and lead scores. Based on these scores, you can follow up with contacts or reward them with exclusive offers when they complete a desired action.
Link tracking reports
You can easily access tracking link insights for each email by going to the Reports section in the left-hand menu of your account.
For each campaign sent with link tracking enabled, the report will display the number of clicks and which specific links were clicked. You’ll be able to see the different hyperlinks included in the campaign, along with how many times each one was clicked. Additionally, you can view insights on unique clicks, total clicks, and the average number of clicks per contact.
