Clean up your import file
One key difference between HubSpot and ActiveCampaign is the number of contact fields (or “Contact Properties”) available. HubSpot offers around 200 standard Contact Properties when Marketune provides six default fields but allows you to create unlimited custom fields.
Here are six default fields of Marketune: Full Name, First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Organization.
Recommendation:
Review your HubSpot export file and keep only the fields you need. This helps maintain a clean and organized database, making it easier to find important information later.Keep a copy of your original HubSpot export file as a backup and create a new version for importing into Marketune. This is suggested to be done in case if you later decide to import additional fields, you can easily do so using the original file. Just make sure to select the “Update Contacts” option on the import page in Marketune.
In order to export your contact from Hubspot you need to access your account and go to the main dashboard. Click on “Contacts” in the top navigation bar and select “Contacts” from the drop-down menu. Then on the contacts page, click on the “Options” menu and Select “Export” to download all contacts with all fields.
Go to your HubSpot account dashboard. Click on “Contacts” in the top navigation bar and choose “Contacts” from the drop-down menu. After click on “Add filter” and select the specific properties you want to export. You can either export immediately with the selected properties or save the filter and export later.
- Navigate to the Lists section in Marketune account and click on the “Add New List” button.
- A "Create New List" window will pop up. Fill in the required fields and click “Create List”.
- Go to Contacts and click on “Contacts” in the left-hand menu.
- Start the import process by clicking the “Import” button and choose “Import from File”.
- A file browser will open. Locate and select the CSV file you want to import and your file will begin processing, and you’ll be redirected to the import screen.
- Map columns to fields. For each column in your CSV file, select the corresponding field in Marketune by using the dropdown menu.
- If you don’t want to import data from a specific column, choose “Do Not Import This Field”.
- If you need a custom field just Click “[Add New Field]” and follow the prompts to create a new one directly from the import page.
- Select the lists you want to add your contacts to. You can add them to multiple lists at once (Optional).
- Type any tags you want to apply to all imported contacts. Use a tag to indicate the source of these contacts. This makes it easier to find and manage this group later.
- Click the “Import Options” dropdown and select “Import as active contact”.
- Check the “Update Existing Contacts” box to merge new data with existing contact records if the email address already exists in your account.
- Once all settings are configured, click the “Import Now” button to begin the process.
By following these steps, you can efficiently import your contacts into Marketune while maintaining an organized and clean database.
