Switching to Marketune CRM from other software like Pipedrive or Teamleader? You can easily transfer your existing deals and contacts into Marketune using the import tool. Here's everything you need to know to ensure a seamless process.
What’s covered in this guide:
- Before you start importing
- Components of your CSV file
- Importing Deals
Before importing your deals into Marketune:
Check these important points!
- Only the 'admin' account can use this function. Other groups need explicit permission to access it.
- The import tool works exclusively with CSV files.
- Your CSV file must not exceed 100MB. For larger files, split them into smaller CSV files.
- Pipelines, stages, and custom deal fields must be created in Marketune before importing.
- Ensure all deal/contact owners are already created in Marketune.
- Imported deals/contacts are automatically assigned the status 'open'.
- Deals without a defined value will be given a default value of €100.00.
Components of your CSV file
To ensure a successful import, your CSV file must meet the following requirements:
- Pipeline: The pipeline name in your file must exactly match the one you’ve created in Marketune.
- Stage: The stage name must also exactly match the stage you’ve created. Note that stages in different pipelines can have identical names.
- Deal title: Every deal/contact in your CSV file must have a title. Missing titles will result in an import error.
- Deal owner: Include the deal owner’s email address or Marketune username in the file.
- Contact name or account name: Each deal must be linked to an existing contact or account. The name must exactly match what is already in Marketune.
- No line breaks: Ensure field values don’t contain line breaks, as these can cause import failures.
- Date format: Use the format YYYY-MM-DD for all date fields.
- Multiple values: If a field contains multiple values, enclose them in double quotation marks and separate them with commas, e.g., "Option 1, Option 2".
1. Go to the 'Deals' section in your Marketune CRM.
2. Click on 'Import Deals' in the top-right corner.
3. The import field will open.
4. Select the CSV file containing your deal data. The file will be uploaded and displayed within the importer tool.
5. Map your CSV fields to Marketune fields. The system will automatically attempt to match the fields in your CSV file to the fields in Marketune based on the headers. In the 'Field Values' column on the right, you’ll see examples of the values in each column. Click on each Marketune field dropdown to manually assign a column from your CSV file to the corresponding field in Marketune.
Important: Each column can only be assigned to one field. If you do not assign a 'Deal Value', the system will automatically assign a default value of €100 to the deal upon import.
7. Set a default pipeline. If your CSV file doesn’t specify a pipeline for certain deals, you can assign a default pipeline. To set this, click on the 'Pipeline' dropdown and select the pipeline you want to use as the default for those deals.
8. Set a default stage. Deals without a specified stage in the CSV file can also be assigned a default stage. To set this, click on the 'Stage' dropdown and choose the stage you want to apply as the default.
9. Complete the import. Once all fields are assigned and your advanced options are set, click the 'Import' button to start the process. Your deals will now be added to Marketune's CRM.
